We actually know that Elx , in fact, open source has a little resistance to final clients.

Guess what? The intention in this kind of topics will help you, and everyone involved, to be confident and have the tools (marketing tools) to give the value that business and no-geeky people are looking for.

I'll be putting some kind of "Issabel Open Design" with a kind of Open Innovation model.

Some public branding innovation like successful open source projects does.

That's part of my mission on this, (graphic design, marketing..). and man... I'll bet you will do business, better than ever before. Well, that's a big promise.

IMHO also the name ISSABEL doesn't inspire a commercial product, but the final product doesn't have to named like that, as happens with ASIPTO and Kamailio, Canonical and Ubuntu. So I think about this project the same way, as a community driven company that can release different products with different commercial names. I can offer my domain fonSIP.com if it seems like a good name for a UC solution.

I like how sounds the name "Issabel". Another name that sounds good is "Ester"... Ester Mochi was the wife of Antonio Meucci.

I agree with alvbosch, Issabel as the home company for the product it's ok. I think you can consider that when you receive instructions by phone to dial something you are told to dial 444444444 star 1 for example. If asterisk is named star we can name it StarPBX or AstraPBX (I prefer the first)

Sounds catchy, relates to the world of asterisk without any plagiarism. I googled it and found smartpbx but not StarPBX. It will be great to work graphically that name and relates to the world of telephony. best regards

Yo pienso que podemos considerar que cuando usted recibe instrucciones por teléfono para marcar algo a usted le dicen marque 444444444 star 1 (en inglés, en españól si dicen asterisco). Si asterisk es llamado star nosotros podemos nombrar StarPBX o AstraPBX (prefiero la primera)

Es pegajoso, se relaciona con el mundo de asterisk sin plagiarismos. Busqué en google y lo que encontró fue smartpbx pero no StarPBX. Sería grandioso de trabajar gráficamente y se relaciona con el mundo de la telefonía. saludos

Finalmente a mí me gusta para mi familia usar LinuxMint (yo uso Fedora) y la comunidad LinuxMint ha sido fuertemente críticada por ponerle nombre de mujer a sus versiones por considerar eso sexismo. No tenemos la plata de MariaDB y podriamos empezar evitando que el producto apenas saliendo reciba críticas de parte de la comunidad que defiende con razón los derechos de las mujeres. saludos
