Hello guys,
I have 2 SIP trunks while the ISPs allow me to specify their outbound caller ID from a range from XXXXXX00 to XXXXXX99. So I can assign the outbound caller IDs to my extensions. As a redundancy plan, should 1 of the SIP trunks failed, the extensions could still use the other trunk for outgoing calls to continue the business.
Because the trunks are using different service providers and there is only 1 place to input extensions' CID so I input SIP Trunk A's CID. But SIP Trunk B will also take that CID to dial and of course, the ISP corrected the CID to the prime number of that trunk before actually dialing out.
I don't care if sometimes they will be using SIP Trunk B's CID when dialing through SIP Trunk B because I have set 2 DIDs for each extensions so they will have 2 direct lines. As long as they can use SIP Trunk B's DID as their Outbound CID, I have no complains about it.
I have been using some Asterisk-based PBXs which have a feature called "DOD (Direct Outward Dialing)" which the setting is under the trunk settings. Looks like: For this SIP Trunk's DOD, Caller ID XXXXXXXX is assigned to extension 301. When 301 is dialing out using this SIP Trunk, it will take that specific Caller ID for dialing. Is it possible to pull the same trick in Issabel?
Thanks!
Regards,
Akira
