How does one install this please?
thanks leon
Hi Leon, Openfire can be installed via yum using: yum install openfire
Hope it helps.
ok thanks...might want to consider a GUI button to do this
leon
ok I YUMed it how do we start it/configure it?
You can config Openfire through port 9090. So if for example your server is 192.168.30.2 you have to go to http//192.168.30.2:9090
That will open Openfire's configuration interface.
Please let us know if it works for you.
I will also bring to the dev team attention the issue with the IM tab not appearing after the installation of Open Fire.
Thanks!
everything should be doable from the gui (i.e. install, startup, etc) having to always go to the CLI is cumbersome. also going to the PLUGINS page on the openfire server you get an exception: Exception:

It looks like there is a problem when openfire tries to download the list of available plugins, however apparently you can download and install the plugins manually.
I recommend opening an issue withing the bug tracker.
i had to manually do this
[root@issabel ~]# /etc/init.d/openfire start
But that doesnt guarantee it will autostart at boot?
Leon
wa4zlw no you need do this
do your linking:
sudo ln -s /opt/openfire/bin/openfire /etc/init.d/openfire
sudo chkconfig openfire --add
sudo chkconfig openfire on --level 235
sudo service openfire start
And now the openfire is on u boot
jfestradaa un gusto saludarles, el openfire aparece en la ultima version pero unicamente el Cliente a utilizar, tu sabes donde se encuentra el servicio para levantar el servidor y configurar el openfire.
