Yo también actualice con yum update y me actualizó el fail2ban, y tal como lo menciona RiveraPer al ejecutar el comando iptables -L -nv no muestra todas las reglas, las va mostrando conforme va bloqueando las IPs.
Con respecto a sshd-ddos, lo que yo hice fue eliminar la carpeta fail2ban, y copiarla de otro Issabel que tengo en un Virtual sin actualizar, reinicio iptables y fail2ban y me muestra sshd-ddos con la versión actual de fail2ban que es la 0.10.4
